Course Director(s)

Simeon Hain, DO - Director

Dr. Hain graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2009 where he was an undergraduate fellow in OPP. He certified in Family Practice in 2012 and NMM in 2013 at O’bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, OH where he has remained as faculty at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was exposed to osteopathy in the cranial field while in high school and has been fortunate to have many outstanding mentors most notably the late Herbert C. Miller, DO, FAAO, FCA.

Katrina Rakowsky, DO - Director

Dr. Katrina Rakowsky joined the SCTF Board of Trustees in October 2025. She is certified in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (ONMM) and Family Medicine/OMT. Since 1999, she has maintained a solo ONMM private practice, an inpatient ONMM consultation service, and served in Osteopathic Director and faculty roles at Meridia South Pointe Hospital—now Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital. She was named Master Faculty by the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010. Dr. Rakowsky founded and directed the FM/NMM and ONMM+1/ONMM3 residencies at Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital from 2010–2022, where she continues to teach and serves as ONMM Division Chair.

Dr. Rakowsky began learning to use her hands at age 11 from her mother, Larissa Cisaruk, an experienced massage therapist and instructor. She earned her BS in Psychology from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, and her DO degree from MSUCOM, where she served as UAAO president. As an intern and family medicine resident at South Pointe Hospital, she treated her own longitudinal panel of OMT patients under the supervision of Dr. Kenneth Klak. She was selected for the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Academic Leadership Fellowship, which strengthened her lifelong commitment to teaching.

Her first SCTF Basic Course was in New York in 1999, directed by Dr. Michael Burruano. She served as the local site coordinator for the 2010 SCTF Basic Course, directed by Dr. Melicien Tettambel, in Warrensville Heights, OH. Dr. Rakowsky has studied with many osteopathic mentors—seeking to learn directly from the masters whenever possible—and is grateful for the opportunity to continue studying with the SCTF. Since Dr. Duncan Soule first invited her to present for the SCTF in 2017, she has regularly presented at SCTF Basic Courses. Treating mothers and babies is one of the most satisfying parts of her private practice. Her research interests include developmental anatomy and spondylolisthesis.

Dr. Rakowsky and her family are active members of the Ukrainian American community, working to send urgent humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
